  • We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst.

    HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

    The Business Systems Analyst will lead in the day-to-day support and operations of the business systems to ensure solutions align with business strategies and objectives.

    The analyst will lead and manage the planning of computer-based systems to support functional business units.

    The analyst will be expected to evaluate, recommend, and design solutions for other departmental leaders.

    The analyst will be expected to deliver business requirements to the full stack developers and provide guidance and testing of solutions.

    The analyst will be expected to proactively seek out areas of opportunity for improvement in the business environment, participate in Douglas Dynamics Management System events and plan/design appropriate solutions.

  • HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

    Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems support

    • Provide support for the business systems used within the organization

    • Keep abreast of new features and technologies in ERP which would benefit the company

    • Provide guidance on underutilized features of ERP which would provide business advantages

    • Partake in training programs to become proficient in the various modules of the ERP system

    • Assist with systems integrations that need to interface with ERP solutions

    • Lead and assist with ERP upgrades and migrations



    Internally Developed Databases and reporting

    • Conduct interviews/meetings with management and IT customers to extract voice of customer related to computer solutions

    • Provide specifications for computer based solutions based on Douglas Dynamics Managements System events

    • Provide computer based reporting solutions using SSRS, PowerBI and the Microsoft Power Platform

    • Assist IT customers in testing and analyzing problems with off-the-shelf software packages and software developed in house

    • Assist IT management and Infrastructure team in developing strategic directions and budgets for service contracts and new equipment to ensure optimal performance and security of software solutions and data storage

    • Perform other application related activities as required



    Application/Data Administration

    • Administer and support Microsoft SQL databases

    • Administer SQL data structures

    • Administer logical data and program storage structures

    • Administer user access to computer solutions

    • Proactive monitoring of systems to maximize uptime

    • Support for legacy systems



    • Support Regulatory Requirements – Follow department procedures related to Sarbanes Oxley standards.

    • Participate when feasible with Douglas Dynamics Management System events.

    • Travel to other Douglas locations as required.

    • Keep work area (tools, material and equipment) clean and orderly.

    • Follow Company safety rules; maintain safe work area and equipment.

    Promptly report orresolve any unsafe condition.

    • Follow Company policies and procedures regarding work and conduct.

    WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:

    Education: 4-7 years experience required in the Information Technology field with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

    Must be willing to partake in external training programs related to function as required by management.

    Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Able to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.

    Able to speak effectively in groups and teams.

    Technical Skills: Must have a working knowledge of current and legacy Windows operating systems.

    Must understand the concept of a client/server environment.

    Must understand the role of computing in a manufacturing setting.

    Must be able to understand and document business processes and current systems.

    Must be able to evaluate others’ work to modify and enhance systems.

    Computer Skills: Must be proficient in some of the following concepts: database design principles, data structures, query development and tuning PowerBI and the MS Power Platform.
