Job description
As a CAD Specialist specializing in water resources work at Egis U.S., you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and design teams to develop, modify, and optimize CAD drawings and designs for various water resource projects.
Your attention to detail, technical proficiency, and knowledge of water resource engineering principles will be essential in contributing to the success of our projects.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
· CAD Design: Create, modify, and maintain CAD drawings and plans related to water resource projects, including stormwater management systems, flood control, water distribution, and wastewater treatment facilities.
· Data Collection: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather and organize project data, specifications, and design requirements to ensure accurate CAD representation.
· Drafting Standards: Ensure that all CAD drawings adhere to company drafting standards, industry best practices, and relevant regulations.
· Design Optimization: Collaborate with the engineering team to refine and optimize designs for water resource projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and sustainability.
· Quality Control: Review and perform quality checks on CAD drawings to identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies, maintaining high-quality standards.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of CAD files, revisions, and project documentation.
· Software Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest CAD software and technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
· Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineers, and other specialists to ensure seamless integration of CAD designs with project goals and objectives.
· Compliance: Ensure that all CAD work complies with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
Profile
Desired Skills:
· Minimum of 2 years of relevant drafting experience.
· Proficient in the use of AutoCAD through , as well as specialized design software such as Civil 3D, Raster, Map and GIS applications.
· Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar) is required.
· Strong knowledge of water resources engineering principles and practices.
· Experience in drafting and design for water resource projects is highly desirable.
· Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· Effective communication skills to convey design ideas and concepts.
· Familiarity with GIS software and hydraulic modeling tools is a plus.
· Knowledge of local and state regulations related to water resources is advantageous.
