Campus Safety Supervisor Job Opening In The Bronx – Now Hiring College of Mount Saint Vincent

The Campus Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all uniformed safety officers during assigned shifts, ensuring that daily safety operations are conducted efficiently and in compliance with departmental policies.

This position also collaborates with university departments to promote a safe, secure, and well-functioning campus environment.

This position requires a 40-hour work week with availability to cover additional shifts, including:


+ 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

+ 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

+ 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM



Responsibilities:


+ Enforce access control policies, building hours and respond to unauthorized entry.



+ Address fire safety violations and assist emergency responders.



+ Traffic control, enforce parking regulations, issue citations, and maintain accurate records.



+ Respond to campus emergencies and reported incidents

+ Investigate security incidents and prepare detailed reports.



+ Supervise, train, and evaluate security officers.



+ Ensure officer compliance with departmental policies and procedures.



+ Operate and monitor CCTV systems; report malfunctions.



+ Coordinate security programs (vehicle maintenance, lighting checks, fire safety drills).

• Assist with security planning for large-scale campus events.



+ Manage officer schedules and post coverage in the absence of the lead supervisor.



+ Maintain scheduling flexibility and availability during off-hours.



+ Perform other duties as assigned.




Requirements


+ High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.



+ Minimum of 1–3 years of supervisory experience in security or related field.



+ NYS Certified Security Guard License

+ Fire Guard (F-04) certifications required.



+ Valid NYS Driver’s License required.



+ Experience in higher education or non-profit security preferred.



+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and incident reporting systems.



+ Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.



+ Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and be on-call.



+ Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.



+ Physical ability to walk/stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.



+ CPR training and First Aid preferred
