Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Job Description
Manage the payroll activities of the payroll shared service operation for all three operations under the parent company.
Ensure timely and accurate payments and payroll tax withholding for all types of employee compensation, including special processing of vested and non-vested imputed income plans, special award programs, relocation programs, TDI, and Workers' comp payments.
Ensure that all payroll processes and procedures comply with internal controls, SOX controls, and legal requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate timely and accurate updating of employee payroll information between the HR/Benefits system and SAP Payroll.
+ Manage the setup of all earnings and deduction codes and the taxability of the codes in SAP payroll.
+ Ensure compliance with federal and state withholding tax laws, workers' comp laws, temporary disability insurance laws, and federal and state unemployment laws.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably within a large company.
+ Experience processing payroll for at least 1000 employees.
+ Working knowledge of SAP related to payroll processing.
+ Thorough understanding of federal and state withholding tax laws, workers' comp laws, and temporary disability insurance laws.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Thorough understanding of accounting principles.
+ Data entry and reconciliation experience.
Work Environment
The position offers a hybrid work schedule following training, with in-office days on Wednesday and Thursday once fully acclimated.
The work environment includes the use of SAP Payroll and other HR/Benefits systems.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
