Children's Apparel Graphic Designer Licensed Characters



Job description

An established Wholesale Manufacturer in NYC is looking for a Graphic Designer with a strong background in character licensed product to join their character license design department, focusing on their growing e-commerce business.

In this role, you’ll concept and execute character licensed graphic art, for Girls, Boys and Baby product.

You’ll collaborate closely with design leads, licensing partners, and cross-functional teammates to bring bold, fresh, and on-brand stories to life—season after season.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design original graphics and prints for a variety of apparel including girls, boys and babysets and separates, for a direct-to-consumer line

  • Interpret license guides and brand identities into trend-forward, eye-catching, age-appropriate apparel

  • Work independently to manage multiple projects while staying aligned with team direction

  • Own your work from concept to design, executing production ready designs, while taking feedback with a positive, solutions-first mindset

  • Partner closely with design, production, and licensing teams to ensure quality, accuracy and compliance

  • Stay current on trend in children’s fashion and media, as well as general pop culture, suggesting new ideas and direction
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-4+ years of experience in graphic/apparel design, with specific experience with licensed characters

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

  • Strong understanding of design principles, utilizing composition, color theory, and typography to create effective storytelling through graphics

  • Knowledge of character licensing and experience working with licensed character assets

  • A true team player who can take initiative and direction—someone who takes feedback constructively, and uses it to make the work even better

  • A collaborative, enthusiastic spirit and a love of children’s fashion and character-driven content

  • Willingness to learn and utilize PLM system
  • Must be willing to work in the office 5 days/week.
