Your Opportunity
Stantec is looking for an intern for our Fargo, ND location to work primarily within our environmental, engineering, and construction team within Environmental Services.

Opportunities exist to support other civil, infrastructure and environmental groups in Fargo, dependent on workload.
As an intern, you can expect to carry out a variety of different tasks related to engineering and construction.

The primary duties for this internship position will entail construction observation, QA/QC testing, and communication with contractors and clients.

The wide variety of tasks you’ll be involved in makes every day interesting by expanding your knowledge as you gain field and office experience.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Serve internal and external clients by being responsive and reliable.

- Continually ask questions and grow in your relative field.

- Construction observation and documentation, field testing and field measurements (construction CQA).
- Construction progress reports and communicate with project team, contractor, and client as required.
- Soil and water sampling.
- Assist with drafting, computer modeling, data entry, preparation of construction plans and specifications, technical memos, and reports, as required.
- Provide support to other groups within Stantec, as business needs dictate and workload allows, for exposure to other disciplines and client types related to engineering and environmental science.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions
- Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs.

and do repetitive work such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time.
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication skills and customer service experience are desired.
Education and Experience
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field OR an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or related program.
- Previous construction observation experience is strongly preferred.
- Additional relevant experience is also preferred, including soil testing, surveying, drafting, and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
This position will primarily work in a field setting but will require some office work.

Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

The position may involve extended working hours and periods of travel; including extended overnight stays out of town.
