Position Summary Information
Position Summary
Requires a highly motivated individual with strong computer skills, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn new things.
The successful candidate will answer phone calls and take messages; greet visitors; open and sort mail; type correspondence, meeting minutes, forms, reports; proofread for grammatical accuracy; create/maintain spreadsheets; process student registrations; order supplies; copy documents; place work orders; process purchase requests; complete various tasks utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and other university supported software.
Minimum Qualifications
Six months as a clerk typist 1 or any combination of six months clerical experience and training.
A successful interview is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the following areas preferred: Microsoft Office and database management; budget maintenance and use of budget software; experience with developing and maintaining a filing system; ordering and maintaining office supplies; and working with diverse populations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, willingness to learn new things, and the ability to multi-task are also preferred.
