Job description

Job Description Job Description Picture Your Day You start your shift reviewing customer drawings and CAD models, translating them into efficient toolpaths using Mastercam or Hypermill.

You build new 3D models or 2D drawings when needed, develop clear setup sheets, choose the right cutting tools and offsets, and refine strategies for maximum yield and cost efficiency.

You guide the setup of CNC Mills and CNC Lathes, jump in to troubleshoot programming issues, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.

As the leader of a small cell, you own up to three CNC machines and manage one dedicated operator, mentoring them and overseeing day-to-day priorities.

You issue purchasing requisitions for tooling and BOM items, keep safety and quality at the forefront, and drive on-time delivery in alignment with our continuous improvement QMS goals.

When needs shift, you flex your schedule and lend hands-on support on the floor.

What You’ll Do Create, optimize, and implement CNC programs for lathe and mill operations from customer specs.

Use Mastercam or Hypermill to program from supplied CAD; generate new 3D/2D content as required.

Produce setup sheets; select tools, holders, and apply tool offsets for best results.

Lead/instruct setup on CNC Mills and Lathes; troubleshoot and resolve programming problems.

Submit purchasing requisitions for tooling and BOM needs.

Interface with internal departments to solve manufacturing issues.

Manage a cell with up to three CNC machines and directly supervise one operator.

Advance safety, quality, and delivery targets; contribute to continuous improvement within the QMS.

What You Bring High School diploma or GED; associate’s, technical certification, or advanced apprenticeship is a plus.

At least 1 year of CNC programming experience.

At least 4 years of machining experience (or as qualified by manager).

Proficiency with Mastercam or Hypermill and solid computer skills.

Strong blueprint reading; working knowledge of GD&T (advanced preferred).

Proven problem-solving ability and leadership aptitude.

Hands-on with machinist gauges (calipers, micrometers, etc.).

Experience across diverse materials: steel, aluminum, stainless, plastics, titanium, copper, ceramic, and more.

3-axis mill setup/operation required; 4- and 5-axis mills preferred.

Prior CNC machining and setup experience preferred; AS9100 familiarity and GD&T proficiency expected.

Ability to lift 50–75 lbs; sit or stand for extended periods; available for overtime as needed.
