**CNC Lathe Machinist - Otay Mesa - 1st Shift - $25/hr-$32/hr**

**Job Description**

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and setting up multi-axis CNC lathes to produce high-quality parts efficiently and accurately.

**Responsibilities**

+ Perform approximately 3 machine setups per day, depending on production needs.
+ Operate 4-Axis Haas Lathe, 5-Axis Mori Seiki, and 2-Axis Femco Lathe equipped with probes and live tooling.
+ Produce parts in batch sizes ranging from 6 to 20 units, with occasional high-volume runs over a month-long period.
+ Monitor and manage run times that typically range from 5 to 40 minutes per part.
+ Read and interpret setup instructions, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate machining.
+ Load control media or input commands to retrieve programmed control data.
+ Prepare and operate CNC drilling machines as needed.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and quality standards.

**Essential Skills**

+ Proven experience operating multi-axis CNC lathes.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and setup sheets.
+ Familiarity with live tooling and probing systems.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
+ Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Experience with touching off parts, probes, and live tooling.
+ Knowledge of G&M codes and ability to make basic edits to a program and recognize error codes.
+ Experience in changing jaws in machines and performing full setups of new parts.
+ Skill in setting and adjusting feeds and speeds, tool changes, and transferring on lathe (front to back chuck).
+ Ability to work with tolerances of +/- thou.

**Work Environment**

This position is located in a large industrial shop environment, where pieces of material are scattered throughout the workplace and beams are sometimes carried by crane overhead.

This is a Contract to Hire position

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
