**CNC Lathe Set Up Machinist - 1st Shift - $28/hr-$33/hr (negotiable) - Miramar Location**

**Mon-Thurs 6am-3:30pm, Friday 6am-12:30pm**

**Job Description**

As a Lathe Machinist, you will work in the machine shop, performing CNC setups and operating CNC lathe machines using Fanuc controls.

You will handle metals such as titanium, aluminum, stainless steel, and composites, primarily working with Nakumura and Wasleon machines.

You must be proficient in reading G&M codes, understanding tool requirements for each build, reviewing and comprehending programs, and independently setting up and completing jobs.

**Responsibilities**

+ Perform CNC setups and operate CNC lathe machines using Fanuc controls.
+ Work with metals including titanium, aluminum, stainless steel, and composites on Nakumura and Wasleon machines.
+ Read and interpret G&M codes, identifying the necessary tools for each build.
+ Review, comprehend, and execute CNC programs independently.
+ Ensure the submission of high-quality parts without requiring quality checks from others.

**Essential Skills**

+ 5+ years of experience as a setup lathe machinist.
+ Proficiency in lathe setup and operation.
+ Familiarity with Fanuc controls, micrometers, calipers, and deburring.
+ Experience in programming CNC machines using Mastercam.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Experience with Swiss screw machines is a plus.
+ Possession of personal tools and calibration equipment is beneficial.

**Work Environment**

Work from Monday to Thursday, 6am to 3:30pm, and Friday from 6am to 12:30pm.

Overtime is only applicable after 9 hours of work in a day.

The company values quality work delivered on time, and employees are expected to complete jobs independently and harmoniously with long-standing team members in a small company of 25 people.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
