CNC MACHINIST
Position Type: Temp to Hire or Direct Hire
Position Hours: 1st Shift, 7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday-Friday
Position Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Position Salary: $25.00 - $30.00
Primary Purpose of the Job:
Set-up and use manual and CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machines to produce (machine, form and/or assemble) plastic, acrylic and steel parts for use in client’s Corrosion Test Chamber and Metal Finishing Equipment product lines.
Essential Duties:
- Review orders, drawings and prints for accuracy and applicability.
- Assess and maintain inventory needs.
- Be able to download programs, perform test operations, and produce parts to order/drawing/specification.
- Set-up and use lathe(s) to produce parts to order/drawing/specification.
- Set-up and use milling machine(s) to produce parts to rder/drawing/specification.
- Set-up and use drill press(es) to produce parts to order/drawing/specification.
- Set-up and use vertical and horizontal cut-off saw(s) to produce parts to order/drawing/specification.
- Set-up and use planer(s) to produce parts to order/drawing/specification.
- CNC programming – be able to perform programming/edits at the machine in G-code (HAAS).
- Fabricate plastic and steel parts to specification.
- Assemble parts to final product.
- Perform routine machine maintenance.
- Visualize, design, and create fixtures and tooling for manufacturing efficiency.
Other Duties:
- Assist with equipment assembly as necessary.
- Keep all work areas clean and organized.
- Document time & material when producing parts.
- Follow all safety policies.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Ability to read, visualize and follow drawings, blue prints, and schematics.
- Knowledge of G-code is a plus.
- Knowledge SheetCAM/CAM software is a plus.
- Ability to learn job-related material through oral instruction and observation.
This learning takes place mainly in an on the-job training setting. - Ability to accurately read measuring instruments (i.e. calipers, tapes, gauges, etc.)
- Ability to use basic hand and/or power tools.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Strong work ethic – ability to report on time for all scheduled workdays/shifts.
Required Education/Experience:
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic are required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Additional technical training would be a plus. - Five years of manufacturing experience.
Working Conditions:
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Safety-toe footwear and eye protection are required when working in the shop.
- Machine and tool operation may require the use of hearing protectors.
Certain duties may require the use of a mask/respirator.
Position requires the ability to:- Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time.
- Bend or stoop repeatedly or continually over time.
- Lift objects up to 50 pounds.
