**Crane Aerospace and Electronics** has an exciting opportunity for a **CNC Machinist- Lathe 1st Shift** at our **Auburn, CA/Vian Enterprises** location.

**Hours are Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:30pm.

We are open to paying a sign-on bonus up to 5k to relocate someone outside of the Bay area.** **New hires as also eligible for a $1000 sign-on bonus.**

**Job Summary:**

The CNC Machinist produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies.

**Essential Functions:**

+ Understand work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parameters
+ Validate material used
+ Maintain specifications; Troubleshoot, detect malfunctions and take appropriate actions; Know when to replace worn tools
+ Listen to machining operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problems
+ Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, fixtures and knowledge of GDT standards
+ Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken thus far as well as any necessary further steps
+ Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

**Non-Essential Functions:**

+ Maintain conscientious work behaviors including work ethic, safety standards, quality, costs, and On-Time Delivery (OTD)

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ Experience: 2+ year of experience machining with CNC Lathes.
+ Knowledge: Knowledge of various inspection equipment i.e. micrometers, calipers, and height gages; Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations; Knowledge of Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing; Understanding of cutting tool Geometry; Knowledge of tooling and coordination
+ Skills/Abilities: Able to work quickly and efficiently through Process Improvement structure; Good verbal and written communication; Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
+ Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent
+ **Eligibility Requirement:** This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information.

Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered.

As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

+ CNC-Mills
+ Understanding of CNC G Code
+ Understanding of basic Math, Geometry and Trigonometry
+ Excellent teamwork skills

**Working Conditions:**

+ Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
+ Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
+ May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
+ Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
+ Standing:100% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

+ Lifting (in pounds): up to 30 pounds
+ Pushing (in pounds): up to 50 pounds
+ Mental/Visual: use of microscope, computer and blueprints
