- What You’ll Do As a CNC Machinist Programmer, you’ll program and operate advanced CNC machines to create high-precision metal and plastic parts.
- Your attention to detail and technical expertise will ensure top-quality products for our diverse clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Program CNC Machines: Use Mastercam or similar software to create programs, offsets, and calculations for precise part fabrication.
Set Up & Operate Equipment:
- Configure vertical and horizontal CNC milling centers and other machines, selecting tools, fixtures, and materials based on blueprints or CAD designs.
Quality Control:
- Inspect finished parts with tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure blueprint accuracy.
Assembly & Testing:
- Assemble parts into complete units and test functionality using jigs, fixtures, and precision instruments.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine machine maintenance, diagnose issues, and schedule repairs to maintain efficiency.
Collaboration:
- Work with engineers, programmers, and inventory managers to optimize processes and resolve challenges.
Inventory Management:
- Track raw materials, report low stock, and support cost-effective ordering.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
1-5 years of experience with CNC machines and programming (entry-level candidates with relevant training encouraged to apply).
- Proficiency with Mastercam or similar CNC programming software.
- Experience using measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height/depth gauges).
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with shop floor control software (e.g.,PLEX, IQMS MES, TrakSYS, E2 Shop System, MasterCam).
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks).
- Certifications such as National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).
- Work Environment & Physical Demands Work in a fast-paced industrial setting with moderate to loud noise (hearing protection provided).
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds or reach overhead.
- Requires close vision, color vision, and ability to read small print or computer screens.
