Description
OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a CNC Operator I who will operate both manual and CNC machines according to program and product specifications to produce small to medium sized components as either as a finished product or as part of another larger product to be assembled.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Operates manual machines such as saws, mills, and lathes.
+ Operates CNC and manual band saws to cut materials according to specifications.
+ Delivers cut or prepared materials to the shop floor using a pallet jack or forklift.
+ Organizes and maintains stock materials and cut/prepared materials to ensure efficient workflow.
+ Removes scrap steel and maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
+ Positions parts in specified locations using a variety of fastening devices.
+ Operates hand-held, electrical, and pneumatic tools as required.
+ Operates lift equipment as needed.
+ Uses precision measuring tools to verify accuracy and maintain quality standards.
+ Identifies various material types used in the department and adjusts equipment as necessary.
+ Recognizes worn tooling and replaces as required.
+ Verifies accuracy of completed products or batch inspections.
+ Reports defective materials, discrepancies, process malfunctions, or nonconforming products to the Department Lead.
+ Maintains equipment and work area in accordance with prescribed safety and housekeeping regulations.
+ Completes all required documentation, including in-process or production tracking forms.
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Basic understanding of machining principles and CNC machine operations
+ Mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in CNC machining
+ Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
+ Basic computer skills for machine operation and data entry
+ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt quickly
+ Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
+ Availability to work flexible hours, including evening and weekend shifts as required
+ Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment
+ Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
