CNC Swiss Machinist – 3rd Shift

Location: Blaine, MN

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Pay Range: $37.20 – $40.80 per hour (based on experience)




Position Overview

We’re looking for a highly skilled CNC Swiss Machinist to join our 3rd shift team in Blaine, MN.

As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Swiss machining, you’ll play a key role in setup, operation, troubleshooting, and ensuring high-quality production of precision components.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, technical environment and enjoys mentoring others while maintaining the highest standards in production and quality.




Key Responsibilities



  • Set up and operate CNC Swiss machines, including Citizen L12 and L20.




  • Input, retrieve, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs; make necessary adjustments to optimize performance.




  • Change and adjust tooling as required to ensure part conformance.




  • Interpret and follow detailed layouts, job travelers, and blueprints.




  • Apply knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tooling applications.




  • Identify and solve complex machining challenges independently.




  • Perform in-process inspections using tools such as microscopes, micrometers, calipers, OGP, etc.




  • Train and mentor operators, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.




  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and supervisors on process development and optimization.




  • Support validation of new programs, tooling, and pre-production setups.




  • Recommend improvements to setups, processes, and workflows.




  • Maintain compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and safety procedures.




  • Perform preventative maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.




  • Participate actively in continuous improvement efforts.




  • Conduct yourself professionally and maintain high performance standards.




  • Perform additional duties as assigned.






Required Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent; Machine Tool Technology degree or certification preferred.




  • 2–4 years of experience in CNC Swiss machining or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on training.




  • Proficient in operating Citizen L12 and/or L20 equipment.




  • Strong understanding of tooling requirements and presetting.




  • Capable of editing programs and troubleshooting independently.




  • Comfortable working with minimal supervision and handling shifting priorities.




  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.






Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in a production or regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., medical device).




  • Familiarity with ISO Quality Systems and industry compliance standards.




  • Advanced blueprint reading and specification interpretation skills.




  • Strong background in machine or shop math.
