We're looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Coating Operator to join our team in Worcester, MA.
In this role, you'll be responsible for applying coatings or laminates to film materials before the converting process or preparing them for shipment.
You'll operate coating machinery, manage raw materials, and perform essential quality checks to ensure production meets customer and safety specifications.
Apply silicone, non-silicone, or adhesive coatings to film materials per work orders
Load raw materials using hand crank or hydraulic lift
Add coating mixtures to machines from drums (manual or pump)
Set up and operate coating machines (speed, temp, threading, airflow, tension)
Strike off and inspect sample products for coating quality and consistency
Review daily assignments, work orders, and job specifications
Record material usage and production data in the QAD system
Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) for all coating activities
Communicate with supervisor if specifications are unclear or missing
Conduct visual and manual quality inspections for coating defects, film quality, etc.
Adhere to all safety protocols and PPE requirements (gloves, safety shoes, dust mask, eye/ear protection)
Assist in cleaning and prepping equipment for next production runs
High School Diploma or GED (required)
12–18 months of manufacturing or machine operation experience (preferred)
Ability to read and interpret job folders, work instructions, and safety documents
Basic math skills: weights, volumes, measurements, conversions
Physically able to lift up to 70 lbs unassisted, or 200 lbs with assistance
Comfortable with standing, walking, and handling materials for long periods
Fast-paced manufacturing environment
Exposure to machinery, heat, fumes, and airborne dust
Moderate to loud noise levels
Frequent standing, reaching, walking; occasional kneeling, climbing, stooping
PPE is required and provided
