Job Description
Set up work area with equipment, tools and perform a variety of duties to assemble coils from a stack of aluminum fins and copper hairpins. Ability to work 2nd shift
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1.
Obtain route sheet and verify its information.
2.
Check for and obtain required tools, equipment and parts as needed.
3.
Work from blue prints and verbal instructions from Supervisor.
4.
Set tables to proper length of coil to be built.
5.
Check for proper end sheets and hairpins.
(End sheets can be put on backwards, upside down, or even on the wrong end with a two (2) or four (4) row coil).
6.
Lace coils to pattern.
7.
Notify set-up person of incorrect amount of fin on stacker.
When complete, remove from table and place on pallet for expanding.
8.
Deburr hairpins as needed to maximize use and minimize scrap.
9.
Replace all unused end sheets and hairpins back to proper containers.
Return all tools to toll boxes.
10.
Maintain tool and equipment.
11.
Clean and organize work area for next shift; duties include leaving tables’ set-up, emptying slug tray, cleaning in and around fin press, and keeping scrap separated from fin scrap.
12.
Notify lead person or supervisor of any deviation from procedure.
To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

High school diploma or equivalent.
2.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
3.
Use of decimals, fractions and scales.
4.
On job training.
5. Ability to work 2nd shift

Very repetitive work, continuous standing, pushing, pulling, lifting and carry of heavy and/or bulk part required.
Frequent walking, squatting, stooping and kneeling.
Weight amounts may vary from 5 pounds to 50 pounds, any amount over 50 pounds requires physical or mechanical help.
Arm strength and coordination required.
Repetitive motion of hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders.
Ability to raise arms above chest level, shoulder lever and over head to build coils and lift coils from build table to pallet.
Rotating of upper body to lift and position fins to place on build table and then completed coil on pallet.
Continuous visual and some close mental attention to details involved in assembling sub-assembly or complete coil to blueprint specifications.
PLEASE NOTE: An employee is required to build 50 to 80 coils per day, depending on the coil size and the area in which employee is working.
Numbers vary due to assembly line rates and urgency of need.
