The Opportunity


This role will give you the opportunity to:



  • Ensure work execution is in compliance with applicable codes and standards.


  • Manage commissioning scope, schedule, budget and quality on the assigned project

  • Actively coordinate with all other internal/external team members on projects 

  • Act as a technical specialist by the division, which includes having in-depth knowledge of an engineering process and/or of technical aspects of an industry 

  • Actively share knowledge with other staff members

The Team


The Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp.

has its mission to provide a full range of services to our primary client base - U.S. Government agencies and departments.

With the unique skill sets we have developed during the 100-plus years of service to our U.S. Government agencies client base, we are able to provide one-of-a-kind solutions to complex mission objectives that arise out of specific challenges faced by and unique to these agencies.

Our primary areas of focus are: Architecture/Engineering (A/E) Services, Defense Program, Design/Build, Classified, and Environmental.

Preferred Qualifications


Assigned to projects for U.S. Government Agency/Department clients.

Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.


Preferred design experience related to any of the following subject matters:



  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Commissioning on projects of similar size and scope.

    Provide documented experience as a lead person responsible for commissioning of systems of the type and complexity similar to the systems in the construction projects.


  • Federal industry experience

  • Knowledge of mechanical and control’s system startup, TAB, and PVT

Minimum Qualifications


Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
Minimum of 5 years related work experience.

Certifications


Professional Engineer License preferred


Commissioning Agent, certified by a national recognized commissioning organization.

Acceptable certifications include:



  1. ACG Certified Commissioning Agent,

  2. AEE Certified Building Commissioning Professional

  3. BCA Certified Commissioning Professional

  4. ICB/TABB Certified Commissioning Supervisor

  5. NEBB Certified Commissioning Professional

Work Environment and Schedule



  • Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.

  • This role could require up to 50% travel.
