POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is directly responsible for our entire endurance portfolio of events, including growth strategy, management of current programming and identifying and engaging volunteer leaders, individual participants, and new partners in support of our endurance portfolio.

As a program manager on the Community Fundraising & Events team, this role will also weigh in on larger CF & E strategy and may be enlisted to lead other events.

They will work cross-functionally to promote our endurance portfolio across teams and throughout the organization.

This is a hybrid position in Minneapolis.

Tour de TC 

This position will develop and lead our Tour de TC cycling program.

They will oversee the growth strategy and work end-to-end from evergreen promotion to multi-year planning of tours to developing relationships with riders, team captains, sponsors and Be The Match partners.

  • Manages and grows the Tour de TC program, leading strategic planning.
  • Oversees execution of tours, rider fundraising commitments, tour-related events, TC relationships in cooperation with Be The Match Clinical Operations Partners and sponsorship development in cooperation with the Corporate and Foundation Partnerships team.
  • Works directly with Foundation Marketing partner to develop evergreen recruitment and promotion plans and CF & E specialist for support on program deliverables.
  • Develop a mass-cycling signature event to widen the funnel and revenue of our cycling programming.
  • Manages direct communication with participants, sponsors, captains, and volunteers in collaboration with marketing partner and CF & E specialist.
  • Provide innovative solutions around recruitment and development of new cycling opportunities.
  • Endurance Programming

    This position will oversee our full slate of Endurance Programming.

    They will develop growth strategies within current partnerships while seeking additional, sustainable partner opportunities.

  • Oversee growth strategy as a thought leader in the endurance programming space.

    This will include growth beyond additional partnerships to determine what is needed for a long-term successful endurance program (, training program).
  • Develop relationships with endurance participants and promoting our endurance programming to our full Be The Match audience as well as sharing across the organization.
  • Manage “By The Mile” fundraisers – , endurance fundraisers not part of an official Be The Match partnership.
  • Manages direct communication with participants, sponsors, captains, and volunteers in collaboration with marketing partner and CF & E specialist.
  • Provide support and leadership across some of third-party event programming.
  • ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Participates in strategic planning for Community Fundraising & Events in order to stay informed for communication & work with our slate of programming.
  • Leads and is responsible for volunteer leaders, volunteer Tour participants and volunteer Endurance participants, including identification, development, cultivation, and stewardship resulting in high level of fundraising engagement for events, community fundraising programs, and lead-generation for Corporate & Major Giving.

  • Identifies, and develops new partners & sponsors (, manages sponsorships for BOA-specific efforts or events, like the LA Soiree event).

    Collaborates with Corp/MG teams within the Foundation to identify potential future opportunities with said partners/sponsors as appropriate.

  • Leads strategic planning for all Tour and Endurance programming; coordinating with Foundation Marketing to manage recruitment and promotion efforts.
  • Identifies and develops Tours, Ride Leaders, Endurance Partnerships, sponsorships and participants for Tour and Endurance programming.

  • Drives fundraising support and success for all Tour and Endurance participants.
  • Maintains tracking information in Raiser’s Edge on all partnership/contributor activities that reflect progress toward goals and communicates regularly with leader about his/her activities and support needs.
  • Manages and updates contributor activities by well documented prospect management procedures and reporting in order to demonstrate advancement of ongoing relationships.
  • Actively participates as a member of the Foundation team to ensure the achievement of overall goals.

  • Communicates effectively with the BTM mission programs, accomplishments, and goals to external audiences, in writing and orally.
  • Establish annual and long-term goals, objectives, and plans for the continued success and growth of volunteer-led fundraising development efforts, including fundraising goals for the portfolio.

  • Partner with Major Gifts, Corporate Partners, and Foundation Business Partners staff to identify and grow volunteer-led partners in broader mission engagement.

  • Work effectively with Be The Match Foundation and NMDP staff, Board members and volunteers as needed to lead and support outreach and stewardship activities.

  • Strengthen relationships among Be The Match Foundation and NMDP staff in various departments to further integrate the Foundation with our parent organization and cultivate information exchange.
  • Ensures confidentiality of Foundation and BTM information.
  • Other Accountabilities:

  • Undertakes special projects as assigned.
  • Represents Be The Match Foundation and the NMDP with internal and external groups.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Knowledge of:

  • Major gift and annual giving campaigns.
  • Endurance, running & cycling PP fundraising programming.
  • Corporate and event sponsorships.
  • Volunteer leadership.
  • MS Office, Excel and Raiser's Edge and Donor Drive a plus.

  • Ability to:

  • Work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Travel as necessary, approximately - trips per year.
  • Be self-motivated, results oriented and demonstrate strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Communicate effectively, both written and oral.

  • Demonstrate proven negotiation skills.

  • Take direction and input to develop effective and engaging branded events that achieve the business goals.

  • Influence and coordinate the efforts of other team members.
  • Applicable skills in strategic planning and budgeting, volunteer development and supervision.
  • Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in marketing, communications, or non-profit management.

    Upon evaluation, equivalent experience and/or education related to the minimum may be substituted for the degree.
  • Five years’ experience in not-for-profit fundraising, preferably within a health-related organization.
  • Five years’ volunteer management experience, preferably with a fundraising focus.
  • Five years events management experience to include corporate/foundation giving, donor cultivation and recognition, donor records and acknowledgement.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising experience that includes special events.
  • Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license required.
