Operations are located in West Columbia, South Carolina and Glen Allen, VA, allowing us to conveniently serve our member-owners, the Electric Cooperatives of SC, VA, MD, and DE, as well as municipals and investor-owned utilities.

In order to best serve our customers, CEEUS offers a tool repair service, lineman PPE testing, as well as emerging technologies such as broadband fiber optics and electric vehicle charging.

The Computer Science Intern will assist in the development, integration, and optimization of company applications and data solutions.
This internship provides hands-on experience in software tools, data analysis, and business system support, contributing to the accuracy, accessibility, and performance of CEEUS's technology resources.
This role supports the Business Systems & Technology team by helping with the maintenance, enhancement, and integration of CEEUS's business applications and data solutions.
The intern will collaborate with data analysts, application administrators, and business users to ensure systems operate efficiently, data remains accurate and accessible, and technology projects are completed on schedule.
The internship provides exposure to real-world IT processes, enterprise applications, and cross-departmental collaboration within a dynamic distribution environment.
The Computer Science Intern we are looking for will be:

Assist with data cleaning, validation, and migration projects
Support application configuration, testing, and deployment activities
Help create and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reports

Participate in troubleshooting application and data integration issues
Test and document changes to ERP, CRM, and other business applications
Assist in developing SQL queries and scripts for reporting and analysis
Support user training efforts by creating documentation and quick-reference guides
Collaborate on projects that improve automation, workflow, and system usability
Perform other duties in support of technology and business process improvement initiatives
Based at CEEUS headquarters and distribution center in West Columbia, SC
Standard working hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday with 1-hour lunch (flexible scheduling for students)
Standard two 15-minute break periods per day
Frequent presence on the warehouse floor; may require standing, walking, and light lifting
Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for up to six hours at a time
Fine motor skills and finger dexterity for precise use of a keyboard, mouse, and trackpad
Ability to communicate frequently and clearly in both verbal and written formats
Ability to see and interpret detailed information on screens, paper, or other materials, with or without corrective lenses
Ability to process complex information, evaluate multiple variables, and apply logical reasoning to solve problems
Frequent presence on the warehouse floor, requiring standing, walking, and occasional light lifting
Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program
Major in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis
Eagerness to learn, analytical mindset, and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with SQL, ERP, or CRM systems
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
