This position serves as a Computer Support Analyst performing difficult and specialized system functions for the End User Computing (EUC) section serving assigned agencies.

In this role, you will resolve complex hardware problems, provide technical support for computer-based hardware and software, and meet with users to determine user needs and objectives.

In addition, you will serve as a project coordinator for standard projects including hardware/software installations and deployments.

Essential Functions

  • Under general direction, serves as a Computer Support Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) performing difficult and specialized system function for End User Computing (EUC) serving assigned agencies.
  • Performs difficult and complex client services functions to support assigned agencies providing technical support for computer-based hardware and software.
  • Serves as project coordinator for standard projects including hardware/software installations and deployments determining and coordinating project components such as project scheduling and assignments.
  • Meets with users to determine user needs and objectives and develop recommendations to accommodate user’s requests ensuring compatibility with existing hardware and software standards.

  • Monitors trouble tickets to ensure acceptable service levels for providing break/fix services to agencies within listed time frames are being met.
  • Provides group or individual assistance and training to customers on installed hardware and software and other functional areas including but not limited to network and server hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with coursework in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in Client Services or a related Information Technology field.

Specialized Skills

  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience providing technical support for end user hardware, software, and applications, including diagnosing issues, applying troubleshooting tools and procedures, and delivering effective customer service resolutions.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience managing Active Directory accounts and deploying software through automation tools such as Microsoft Windows/MSI scripts, Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), or Lite-Touch.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network-connected devices within a business infrastructure environment.

Preferred Qualifications (In Order of Significance)

  • One (1) year of professional experience providing technical support for end user hardware, software, and applications, including diagnosing issues, applying troubleshooting tools and procedures, and delivering effective customer service resolutions.
  • One (1) year of professional experience managing Active Directory accounts and deploying software through automation tools such as Microsoft Windows/MSI scripts, Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), or Lite-Touch.
  • One (1) year of professional experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network-connected devices within a business infrastructure environment.
  • One (1) year professional experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite, including installation, configuration, and user support.
  • One (1) year professional experience adapting complex processing to meet diverse system and program requirements, including integration with existing hardware, software, or network environments.
  • One (1) year professional experience coordinating and scheduling equipment deployments, installations, and upgrades ensuring minimal disruption to business operations,
  • Working knowledge of Mac Operating Systems configuration and support within an enterprise environment.
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or similar) to streamline system administration and software deployment tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to explain technical information to non-technical users, team members, and management.

    This position is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)).

    Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
