Our Strategy & Investment team plays a vital role in shaping our Te Whatu Ora strategies for Data and Digital.

We work closely with our partners to create and maintain our strategy and roadmaps, ensuring that our priorities are met, and the vision comes to life.

Our focus is on providing leadership, managing services, and overseeing architecture to align with our strategic goals.

Additionally, we're excited to lead Strategic Partnership Management.

This involves fostering partnerships with industry providers, managing relationships with national partners like Microsoft, AWS, and Spark, and handling Data and Digital Contract Management alongside Procurement.

Our team develops and maintains frameworks, agreements, and roadmaps to keep everything running smoothly.

As a valued member of our team, your role is all about building strong connections and driving successful partnerships.

You'll work closely with our Supplier Relationship Managers and delivery teams to ensure smooth interactions with our suppliers.

Your support will be crucial for our Data and Digital teams to make the most out of our contracts and commercial relationships, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.

Collaboration is at the heart of what you'll do.

By engaging with our various delivery teams across Data and Digital, you'll help everyone understand and make the most of the benefits our contracts offer.

As a problem-solving guru, you'll identify any challenges and work hand-in-hand with the business to find effective solutions.

Your role will involve collaborating with commercial, procurement, and software asset management teams to understand compliance requirements inside and out, ensuring all operational teams are aligned.

Your sharp eye will spot risks, and your insights will guide us in developing agreed-upon solutions.

With your support, contract audits will be a breeze for our operational teams.

Innovation is in our DNA, and you'll play a crucial part in helping our Supplier Relationship Managers establish governance frameworks that foster innovation and maximize value.

Working collaboratively with suppliers will come naturally to you, ensuring that reporting is clear, effective, and outcome oriented.

Our commitment to continuous improvement is where you shine – you'll keep a close watch on supplier SLAs and KPIs. Your talent for spotting opportunities for enhancement will drive our ongoing evolution.

And should any challenges arise in supplier performance, you'll be there to lend a hand and find practical solutions.

Your partnership extends within our organisation as well.

You'll collaborate closely with the business and the Data & Digital delivery teams.

Together, we'll nurture strong relationships across our supplier portfolio.

Your strength lies in managing relationships according to our agreed-upon supplier management plans.

You'll also be the driving force behind surveys that gauge these relationships, encouraging open feedback and seizing opportunities for growth and improvement.

Preference will be given to applications of significantly affected Kaimahi through the change process.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Needs to draw on relevant longer-term experience specific to the job and work demands, acquired over time – minimum 5 years.

    Has proven experience in ICT relationship management, ICT commercial project or procurement strategy/planning/management in a large, complex environment preferably developed in operational or programme delivery roles.

    Ability to negotiate and resolve contractual issues, including failure to meet contractual obligations by external or internal parties, and support our teams to establish appropriate relationship governance.
  • Analytical and technical skills, including the ability to collect, assimilate, and summarise raw data in a systematic way to build a useful dataset for analysis.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills for a variety of audiences, and ability to produce high quality commercial documentation clearly, articulately, and succinctly.
  • Previous responsibility at a leadership level for developing, maintaining, and influencing relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations including with Māori and Pacific Peoples and groups.

    Proven relationship building skills and well-developed communication skills.

    Leadership level experience putting into practice the expectations outlined in Te Tiriti o Waitangi in their position.
