The Opportunity:
Assist Program Director with all shared-services level assignments related to the Pre-Award Shared Services (PASS) unit.
These assignments include, but are not limited to, the preparation and review of proposals leading to submission, budgets and other proposal related documents and working as a liaison with Office of Research (OR), as the Authorized Organizational Official (AOR).
Responsibilities:
Advises faculty or executive leadership from units participating in the Pre-Award Shared Services (PASS) Dept.
and their departmental administrators on interpretation of sponsor guidelines, forms, regulations and policies related to proposal & budgetary requirements.
Prepares sponsor forms including budgetary, application forms and ancillary submission documents for inclusion with the proposal submission, as well as internal administrative forms, as appropriate.
Reviews and ensures accuracy of approved cost share requirements, including the source, amount and authorized signatures of committed cost share wherever necessary.
Ensures that research proposals routed through the University Huron Research Suite (HRS) system along with any applicable special considerations (e.g. budget, cost share, release time, reduced IDC, space needs, etc.) are secured and approved by appropriate University officials (e.g. Chair, Dean/Director, VP, etc.).
Act as a liaison between the faculty, departments, collaborators, Office of Research (OR), and sponsors with all aspects of sponsored research proposal administration.
Provides grants and contracts administrative support for pre-award activities to develop grant submissions; assists with budget and document development for proposal submissions; ensures compliance with sponsor guidelines and university policies (including but not limited to: IRB, IACUC, EHS, Tech Transfer and Export Control).
Provides high quality service and attention to detail and ensures that proposals and related sponsor requested Just-In-Time requirements are completed in a timely manner.
Attends relevant internal and external professional development trainings, seminars and conferences, PASS unit.

(e.g. EXCIT, ENSPIRE, Research Development and proposal development kick-off meetings).
Serve as backup support for the Faculty Cluster Initiative (FCI) proposals as required or during low-volume periods.
Other duties or special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills and the ability to work with individuals from varied backgrounds and experiences, in professional settings.
Demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills and critical analyses abilities, while maintaining a high-volume and multifaceted portfolio.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Knowledge and experience with University of Central Florida policies and procedures.
Knowledge and experience in working with Federal regulations as they relate to contracts and grants is preferred.
Experience with NSF (National Science Foundation), NIH (National Institutes of Health), Department of Energy (DOE), and NASA is preferred.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $48,722- $55,000.
The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
