Controls Engineer Job Opening In Dallas – Now Hiring Gpac


Job description

Controls Engineer – Siemens PLC & HMI Programming Expert
A leading industrial manufacturing company is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in Siemens programming (version 18 and newer).

This is a key technical role for someone who can program PLCs and HMIs from scratch, efficiently troubleshoot automation issues, and create clear documentation to support off-shift teams.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and program Siemens PLC and HMI systems (version 18 and above) from the ground up
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues on manufacturing equipment
  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure uptime and equipment reliability
  • Develop clear, concise documentation and troubleshooting guides for off-shift maintenance personnel
  • Conduct program backups, updates, and system upgrades as needed
  • Assist with machine startups, commissioning, and modifications
  • Support continuous improvement projects related to automation and controls

What We're Looking For:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a closely related field is required
  • Strong experience programming with Siemens TIA Portal v18 or newer
  • Proficiency with PLC and HMI logic design, troubleshooting, and implementation
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics and technical documentation
  • Familiar with control panel layout and field wiring best practices
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in documenting logic for non-engineers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with hands-on mindset
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing or industrial automation preferred
