**About this role**

This position is for a Controls Field Technician in Aftermarket and Service who is under minimal supervision and works more independently.

Conducts and/or oversees equipment inspection and repair activities on a regular basis to ensure proper functioning.

Responsible for on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration after installation.

Solves highly complex problems and serves as a resource on varied tasks.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Job requires fieldwork with controllers and associated components
+ Highly qualified controls technicians preferred
+ Working knowledge with BAS systems, Carrier i-Vu knowledge is a plus
+ Complete each assigned project focusing on customer satisfaction and specification compliance while maintaining budgetary guidelines
+ Partner with sales function to set parameters for equipment needs and project timeline
+ Create submittals, read and understand project specifications and MEP drawing sets, controls and shop drawings
+ Document and track project completion with as-builts and final program notation with all field changes
+ Assemble Operation & Maintenance Manuals for completed projects.
+ Utilize company and as required customer standard programs for designing graphic function blocks for assigned projects
+ Test project programs to ensure specified sequences of operation are met and performed accordingly to industry standards
+ Inspect HVAC system including point-to-point, determining the proper operating ranges for field devices, as well as complete functional system checkouts
+ Conduct graphics engineering functions which include creating equipment and floor plan graphics per project documents
+ Submit material orders for project- required materials to the purchasing group.
+ Assist in the development of functional checkpoints lists for commissioning and additional documentation requirements to commission the system or work with the Commissioning Agent
+ Company vehicle provided
+ OT compensation eligible

**Required Qualifications:**

+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ 2+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or technical field.
+ Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.
+ Valid and current Driver’s License and can be insurable by the company’s insurance.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field.
+ Knowledge of computers, setup procedures, and networking systems.
+ Previous experience in AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
+ Working experience with Carrier i-Vu, Tridium or BACnet systems.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
+ Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
+ Knowledge in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC/Control.
+ Prior experience in HVAC and/or Building Automation.
+ Expert with TCP/IP networks including wireless technology.
+ Experience interacting with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines.
