Controls Technician
Job Description
As a Controls Technician, you will be responsible for in-house commissioning, troubleshooting, and final testing of our full product line, including various systems.
Collaborate with the service and engineering departments to continuously improve these product lines and deliver a quality product to the customer.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, identify root causes, and solve operational issues associated with shrink wrap and bundling machinery in-house and at customer locations.Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).Install and start up systems, including systems integration with other OEM equipment in the field.Train appropriate personnel in the field and in-house on proper setup, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.Perform extensive mechanical and electrical modifications, including PLC program modifications, kit installations, and servo drive reconfigurations.Submit reports on machine and system installations, warranty repairs, overall performance levels, problems, and product improvement or enhancement opportunities to the service manager for follow-up.Communicate daily with the service coordinator to ensure all field issues are completed and approved by the customer.Essential Skills
3-5 years of experience in the industry, particularly in PLC troubleshooting.Experience with Allen-Bradley, electrical, mechanical, and automation systems.Proficient in reading mechanical and electrical schematics.Experience working with industrial machinery.High-level troubleshooting experience with PLC and HMI.Strong communication skills, both written and oral.Additional Skills & Qualifications
A technical degree is preferred.5 years of experience repairing and troubleshooting packaging equipment, including extensive Allen-Bradley PLC, servo, and HMI programming.A 2-year degree or certificate in Industrial Automation or Industrial Electronics is highly desired.Experience with Emerson and Hitachi VFDs.Experience with Red Lion HMIs and temperature controllers.Experience with SolidWorks and E Drawings.Previous experience with packaging equipment and conveyor systems preferred.Travel experience preferred.Familiarity with Allen-Bradley Compact Logix/MicroLogix programming/editing capabilities.Familiarity with servo systems and motion controls, particularly Allen-Bradley.Work Environment
The position is on-site from Monday to Friday with flexibility on start timesWeekends involve voluntary work, with compensation at 1.5x on Saturday and 2.0x on SundayTravel up to 25% and weekends may be necessary.Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, Missouri.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
