Summary This position is located at Hale Ikena facility, Fort Shafter, Hawaii (Island of Oahu).

Responsibilities Prepares a variety of foods and desserts according to menu requirements and apportions foods for family style servings as well as for plate service.
Follows health and safety precautions to ensure safe preparation, handling and storage of food items.
Plans, coordinates, times assignments to assure that food items are prepared at a correct temperature and on time.
Assists in training lower grade cooks or kitchen help and provides advice on how to improve their work methods.
Operates kitchen equipment designed to mix, cook food; cleans and maintains kitchen equipment, utensils and work area.
Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less).

Minimum Qualifications: 1.
Minimum of 6 months work experience directly related to the duties described above, that included skill in working with professional kitchen appliances and equipment.

Allowances and Differentials This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system.
FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit.
Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays.
Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
