Cybersecurity Engineering Co-Op - Spring 2026

THE ROLE

Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a/an Cybersecurity Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2026 season.

This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.

This Cybersecurity Co-Op position is part of the Cybersecurity Architecture & Engineering team, which is responsible for designing and implementing secure, scalable, and automated solutions across the enterprise.

The team focuses on key domains such as identity and access management (IAM), privileged access management (PAM), cloud security, network segmentation, and secure web gateway technologies.

The co-op will gain exposure to real-world cybersecurity challenges, collaborate with experienced engineers, and contribute to initiatives that enhance the organization's security posture.

This opportunity offers valuable professional development and a pathway to future full-time roles in cybersecurity.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in evaluating and testing cybersecurity tools and technologies (e.g., IAM, PAM, SWG, NAC).

  • Support automation efforts for routine security tasks and workflows.

  • Help document architecture designs, engineering standards, and operational procedures.

  • Participate in vulnerability assessments and remediation tracking.

  • Contribute to firewall rule reviews and network segmentation planning.

  • Analyze logs and alerts to identify potential security issues.

  • Assist in onboarding and configuration of security platforms.

  • Conduct research on emerging threats and cybersecurity trends.

  • Collaborate with engineers on proof-of-concept implementations.

  • Support compliance and audit-related documentation efforts.

  • Attend team meetings and contribute to project discussions.

What We Seek

  • Minimum completion of 2 years of undergraduate coursework

  • Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in IT or cybersecurity preferred

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts such as network security, identity management, and threat detection

  • Basic understanding of scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Go)

  • Exposure to security tools or platforms (e.g., Tenable, Active Directory, cloud security platforms) is a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Preferred certifications: CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-900, or similar

  • Standard business hours (Monday–Friday); occasional flexibility for meetings across time zones

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or a related field

  • Graduation date of Spring 2026 or later

Eligibility

  • Must be a currently enrolled student

  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June.

  • Must be familiar with the universities requirements to participate in a co-op program
