Summary This position is located at Fort Polk with Youth Sports and Fitness.

The Program Associate Instructor will instruct Gymnastics.

Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee: Available to MWR CYS Regular and FLEX (working a minimum of 15 hours) First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: At least 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Responsibilities Serves as an Instructor in the CYS Instructional Program.

Provides individual and/or group lessons to participants.

Offers less structured activities for parents/children.

Coordinates work schedules with Instructional Program Specialist.

Develops individual and group lesson plans.

Tracks participant's accomplishments, long and short term goals, effort, and evaluations as appropriate for age and type of instruction.

Maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of program participants.

Observes and evaluates participants developmental level and records progress.

Continually reviews instructional sessions and plans for appropriateness.

Observes program participants for signs that may indicate illness, abuse or neglect and reports as directed.

Plans and conducts special events for parents designed to promote the instructional program while encouraging parents to become involved.

Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less).

Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1.

Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.

2.

Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).

3.

Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.

4.

Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop and stand on a routine basis.

Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.

5.

Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.

6.

Demonstrated skill/evidence of competence in instructional area.

Preferred are those candidates who possess a Professional Certificates/Credentials; or Associates Degree or higher with 15 semester hours of college credit in the area of instruction.

Best qualified candidates will submit resumes reflecting at least 2 years of Gymnastics experience.

Allowances and Differentials This job is part of a pay-banded system.

Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.

Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

Management has the right to assign staff to locations as mission requires.

This position is a Flex position.

Flex positions can work anywhere between 0 - 40 hours per week.

Hours are not guaranteed Rate of pay for this Flex position will be $18.96 - $24.76 per hour and pay is awarded based on the number of hours worked.
