Position Title: SQL Server Developer
Location: Montgomery, AL
Work Mode: 100% onsite
Position Status: Contract
Pay Rate: $48.00/hr
Interview Mode: 1-2 rounds, first round will be MS Teams, 2nd round onsite
Position Description: Position Description
We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Server Developer to join our team in Montgomery, AL.
This role is critical in supporting business intelligence, data integration, reporting, and application development within a structured Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL development, ETL, and Power BI reporting, along with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
You will work closely with finance, healthcare, and analytics teams to deliver high-quality data solutions that drive operational efficiency and informed decision-making.Key Responsibilities Analytics & Support (5+ years): - Provide analytics support across health systems, finance, and analytics divisions.
- Collaborate with project managers, team leads, analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
Report & ETL Development (3+ years): - Design, build, and maintain ETL processes using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across systems.
Application Development (3+ years): - Lead the design, development, and implementation of applications supporting budgeting, STARRS, and accounting systems.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
SQL Development (8+ years): - Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
- Create and manage scripts to build new database objects and deploy patches.
- Support multiple databases with a focus on performance tuning and query optimization.
Database Management (3+ years): - Assist with schema design, upgrades, and data improvements.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure system stability.
Power BI Reporting (3+ years): - Develop, publish, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for business intelligence.
- Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
Qualifications Required: - Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
- Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, and Power BI.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling principles.
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing advanced SQL queries.
- Experience working within the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Preferred: - Experience in healthcare, Medicaid, or health insurance environments.
- Familiarity with large-scale financial or government systems.
