Our client is seeking a Data Center Technician - Technical IT 3 - Nightshift to join their team.
**Job Title:** Data Center Technician - Technical IT 3 - Nightshift
**Location: San Antonio, TX**
**Pay Range:** **$33.00/hr.
- $36.00/hr.**
**What’s the Job?**
The main function of a Data Center Technician is to monitor software to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions.
+ Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) according to specific instructions provided via checklists, guides, and standard protocols.
+ Performs post-execution quality checks and verifies that grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are set up properly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
+ Applies advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting expertise to quickly identify the cause(s) of issues.
+ Decommissions hardware for complex changes and/or systems with complex interactions (e.g., upgrading entire racks) following standard procedures.
+ Verifies security compliance for decommissions.
+ Follows procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate data center operations management units and Technician Leads.
Required:
+ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and basic knowledge of computer hardware components
+ 2+ years’ experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
+ Previous experience working in a data center environment.
+ Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Flexibility to work non-standard business hours that may include weekends and/or holidays
Shifts:
+ Three (3) Resources will be working A-side night shift, Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday.
+ Four (4) Resources will be working B-side night shift, Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday.
