Job description
Our Client, a Av Manufacturing company, is looking for a Data Engineer - Fleet Operations & Analytics for their Foster City, CA location.
Responsibilities:
+ Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to process vehicle telemetry, service logs, and operations data
+ Build and maintain real-time data pipelines that process fleet telemetry, mission status, and dispatch data
+ Implement monitoring and alerting systems for data quality, latency, and availability
+ Integrate multiple software platforms and design large-scale data processing systems
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Analytics:
+ Partner with operations teams (fleet ops, safety, remote assist) to define KPIs and provide accessible, reliable datasets
+ Enable self-service analytics by designing well-documented datasets and tools for dashboards
+ Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and operations analysts to integrate ML models into production workflows
+ Collaborate with product and operations leadership to translate business needs into data-driven solutions
Operational Excellence & Automation:
+ Build lightweight automation systems and dashboards to reduce manual workload on dispatch and readiness teams
+ Develop APIs and pipelines that integrate operational data directly into decision-making tools
+ Create structured feedback loops where operational learnings are captured, analyzed, and fed into engineering roadmaps
+ Partner with product and operations engineering teams to address recurring issues and inefficiencies
Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field with 6+ years of experience
+ Master's degree in Engineering preferred (ML experience preferred) with 5+ years of experience
+ Proven experience in data engineering, data science, ML, and predictive analytics
+ Databricks: Proficiency with workflows, jobs, and platform capabilities
+ Data Visualization: Experience with Looker, Tableau, and PowerBI
+ Programming: Strong proficiency in SQL and Python; PySpark experience preferred
+ Database & Analytics: Advanced SQL skills for complex data manipulation and analysis
+ Ability to integrate multiple software platforms and design large-scale data pipelines
+ Excellent communication skills to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
+ Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
+ Experience building production-grade data systems with reliability and scalability requirements
+ Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
