The Data Scientist II is responsible for entering, cleaning and conducting advanced data manipulation and statistical analysis for the government.
**HOW A DATA SCIENTIST II WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:**
+ Responsible for entering, cleaning, and conducting advanced data manipulation and statistical analysis.
+ Operating in consultation with program staff and the Government’s biostatistician, the Data Scientist II provides subject matter expertise in the areas of program evaluation, research methodologies and data analysis.
+ Provide consultation and assistance to supported units and program staff to identify opportunities and methods for capturing data relating to the program and it’s initiatives.
+ Prepare reports and presentations that accurately convey data trends and associated analysis using Government systems.
**WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:**
+ Possess excellent communication skills and shall be highly detail oriented and organized and have at least 3 years of research experience in academic, social services, government, healthcare or laboratory setting.
+ Proficient with the suite of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Access.
+ Advanced proficiency with commonly used statistical software applications (e.g. SPSS, SAS, and R).
Advanced proficiency may be demonstrated through an employment history in academia or other setting where the conduct of research is routine.
+ Must demonstrate proficiency through work or publication history.
**EDUCATION:** Master’s or Doctoral degree in quantitative science, social science or related discipline.

**CLEARANCE:** Ability to obtain and maintain Secret or Top-Secret Clearance.

The likely salary range for this position is $82,283 - $111,323.
This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire.
