Denton, TX OSP Technician

Location: Denton, TX (initial site), transitioning to Dallas, TX
Schedule: Monday–Saturday, 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM (60-hour work weeks)
Job Description:
TEKsystems is seeking OSP Data Center Technicians to support a hands-on cabling and infrastructure project at a data center in Denton, TX, followed by continued work at a Dallas-based site.

This is a physically demanding role ideal for candidates with a strong history in structured cabling and low-voltage systems.
Technicians will primarily be responsible for fiber cable pulling, rack and stack, and patching.

While termination and testing will not be immediate responsibilities, technicians will have the opportunity to grow into these tasks as they demonstrate reliability and skill on-site.
A one-week training program will be provided prior to deployment, ensuring technicians are fully prepared for the scope of work.
Key Responsibilities:

+ Pulling and routing fiber optic and Cat5 cabling

+ Rack and stack of data center equipment

+ Performing patch work and cable management

+ Working at heights, including ladders and aerial lifts

+ Carrying equipment and materials up to 40 lbs

+ Maintaining a professional demeanor on-site

Required Skills & Qualifications:

+ Solid understanding of Cat5 cabling and low-voltage systems

+ Comfortable working at heights and in physically demanding environments

+ Reliable transportation to and from job sites

+ Must bring basic hand tools: snips, screwdrivers, punch down tool, RJ45 crimpers, channel locks

+ Preferred: drills and portable bandsaw

Experience Level:

+ Intermediate – Prior experience in OSP cabling and data center environments is required

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
