We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Designer to support key program initiatives.
This role involves creating innovative and practical mechanical and electro-mechanical concepts and designs for components, assemblies, tools, and products of varying complexity.
The designer will collaborate closely with engineering, vendors, manufacturing, quality, and customers to ensure design specifications are met and free of layout process defects.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in CAD methodologies, particularly with Creo 9, and a deep understanding of military and ASME standards.
Experience with Model Based Definition (MBD) is highly desirable.
This position requires onsite presence due to the complexity of the work and processes involved.
Responsibilities
Develop mechanical and electro-mechanical designs for components, assemblies, and tools. Apply CAD methodologies, theories, and techniques using Creo 9. Ensure CAD models are compatible with modeling and simulation software. Prepare complex design layouts, schematics, and sketches to meet system and integration requirements. Create drawing packages compliant with military or ASME standards. Review and check engineering documents for clarity, completeness, and compliance. Coordinate with systems engineers to ensure designs meet contractual requirements. Evaluate designs for producibility, viability, and integration. Provide expert technical consultation on design standards and configurations. Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 9 years of design/drafting experience using Pro-E/Creo CAD systems. Associate Degree in engineering drafting/design or equivalent experience. Proficient in tolerance analysis and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Skilled in 3D modeling and file manipulation. Comprehensive knowledge of military drawings, specifications, and MILSPEC/STD's. Strong understanding of production methods and human factors. Ability to prepare and validate engineering documentation and change history. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Model Based Definition (MBD). Prior experience in a defense environment, especially with combat vehicles. Familiarity with production methods and ergonomic design principles. Strongly prefer candidates with past experience in similar defense programs.
