A fortune 50 client of Insight Global is looking for a Cloud Cost Optimization Engineer to join their team.

This person is expected to be a SME in Google Cloud Platform Cost Optimization.

The goal is to analyze our current GCP usage, identify areas of excessive expenditure, and recommend actionable strategies to reduce costs without compromising performance or scalability.

Key Responsibilities:
· Perform a comprehensive audit of our GCP environment
· Analyze cost drivers across services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Networking, etc.)
· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure, optimize costs, and ensure performance & availability arent compromised
Collaborate with internal teams to implement cost-saving measures

Compensation:
$55/hr to $65/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of

Eligibility to enroll in
the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment.

Additionally, employees in this

Required Skills & Experience

- 10+ years of experience with GCP
- Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform, especially:
o Compute Engine (VMs), Google Kubernetes Engine, Google Bigtable, Big Query
o Cloud Networking (VPC, Load Balancers, Cloud NAT, etc.)
o IAM and Billing
o Monitoring and Logging tools
o Datastax Cassandra
- Strong understanding of GCP pricing models and cost management tools
Ability to communicate findings clearly and drive implementation

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience with FinOps or cloud cost governance
- Retail background
