Annual Salary: $67,500
Under the direction of the Vice President of Strategic Growth & Engagement, the Video Production Engineer is responsible for the technical aspects of video production, ensuring seamless operation and high-quality output for all video productions, including live events, recordings, and streaming.
This includes setting up, operating, and maintaining video equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with production teams to achieve optimal results.
The ideal candidate has experience in developing high-quality, creative, and engaging videos from concept to creation.
Must be comfortable with storyboarding, writing, lighting, mic, shooting and editing, and producing all types of videos (short social media clips, clip montages, direct-to-camera studio recordings, and longer-form produced pieces).
This individual is an enthusiastic, energetic collaborator interested in playing a critical role within the department and organization.
They must understand business objectives, operations, programs, services, and administrative functions to lead content creation.
The Video Production Engineer proactively seeks information to keep up to date with what is happening in the organization and within industry.
The Video Production Engineer must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills and be highly organized and collaborative.
This individual should be a dependable initiative-taker with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
The Video Production Engineer will have an assigned office at the corporate headquarters.
However, routine travel to other Didlake locations may be required.
Local travel for meetings and events may be required.
- Set up, operate, and maintain video production equipment, including cameras, switchers, audio mixers, recorders, and streaming encoders.
- Operate video equipment during productions, including camera operation, switching, and audio mixing.
- Assisting with
- Diagnosing and resolving issues with media servers, studio equipment, and production software.
- Manages the post-production processes, including editing, encoding, and processing workflows to ensure high-quality output.
- Manage live streaming operations, including encoding, content delivery networks (CDN), and video-on-demand (VOD) platforms.
- Develop efficient workflows for content creation, storage, and distribution, often involving cloud-based or on-premises systems.
- Collaborate closely with team members to assess the performance of digital content, gather insights, and inform the development of future content to ensure continued relevance and engagement.
- Oversee the organization and maintenance of the team’s media library, ensuring impactful content is readily available for repurpose and adaptation by partners.
- Stay up to date on the latest video production technologies and techniques.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- BS/BA degree in Video Engineering, Media Production, or a related field is preferred and a minimum of three (3) years of professional video experience, including shooting and editing in a corporate or non-profit setting.
- Experience with social media platforms and related video trends on all media platforms.
Livestreaming experience strongly preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Diligence and a passion for video excellence.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to leverage existing content and initiatives to support and enhance team goals.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Creative Cloud), with deep knowledge of After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Thorough knowledge of office practices and procedures and the use of office machines, computers, and programs, particularly Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with podcasting and video production software and equipment, as well as social media management tools.
- Occasional travel for events or meetings.
- Comfortable interacting with all levels of an organization.
- Ability to project a positive and professional image to the public, co-workers and Didlake clients.
- Ability to interact effectively and supportively with people with disabilities.
