Global Derivatives Technology develops and supports xTrader, CIBC's cross-asset portfolio management platform.
xTrader is a suite of .NET applications that feeds the bank's finance, regulatory, and risk management systems.

**What You'll Be Doing**
As a Director for Application Support in Derivatives Technology, you bring a solid expertise supporting complex derivatives platforms.
You diagnose and resolve technical problems with xTrader and other applications used in Capital Markets.
Escalate issues to internal developers, external vendors, or to our infrastructure partners.
Provide timely updates to the affected traders and to technology managers.
Gather business requirements, for example in anticipation of trading a new product.
Liaise with the business analyst and project management teams.
Act as an advocate for the front office in discussions with the broader technology team.
Apply Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices for incident, change, and problem management.
Manage major incidents in collaboration with CIBC's Enterprise Incident Management team.
Support spreadsheet-based market data and pricing processes and test new application functionality before release.
You also oversee operations team and vendors during application releases and build strong working relationships with traders, the broader technology team, and external vendors.
Document processes and recurring issues.
Share knowledge within the team.

Occasional work may be required on evenings, weekends, and holidays and work outside of business hours can be remotely.

**How You'll Succeed**
This is a challenging role that requires strong technical skills, an interest in capital markets, and the ability to work in a fast-paced trade floor environment.
While your background should provide a solid foundation, we'll provide formal training, coaching, and networking opportunities to help you succeed.
**Who You Are**
+ **Technical Skills:** We are seeking a highly skilled Director for Application Support in Derivatives Technology with demonstrated expertise supporting complex Derivatives Platforms.
You demonstrate strong, hands-on experience with both Commodities /Rates/ Equity Derivatives, with a proven ability to support and optimize technology solutions across these asset classes.
An in-depth familiarity with the full lifecycle of a Derivative Trade—including Pricing, Risk and PnL.
Advanced experience working with market data systems, with particular emphasis on Bloomberg and other industry-standard data sources.
A history of leveraging technical and business knowledge to drive continuous improvement, stability, and efficiency in application support environments.
+ Experience with a programming language like Python, Java, or C# would be helpful.
Broad technical knowledge of Windows or Linux.
High-level understanding of computer infrastructure, including TCP/IP networking.
Experience with relational databases and Structured Query Language (SQL), object database like MongoDB, SDLC including requirements gathering and testing would be an asset.
+ Experience with ITIL, including an incident, problem, and change management tool like ServiceNow.
Experience with software testing and issue management using a tool like JIRA to track defects.
Experience with an application monitoring tool, e.g. Dynatrace or ITRS Geneos.
+ **You have a degree.** Post-secondary degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, finance, or another analytical discipline is required.
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation would be an advantage.

This role has an expected salary range of $150,000- $180,000 based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.
The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
