By automating the detection and remediation of vulnerabilities at their source, this leader will directly address one of the largest operational burdens on our engineering community.

As a Director on the Developer Experience Product team, you will be responsible for the strategy, vision, and execution of the Continuous Automated Refresh (CAR) program.
This initiative is designed to fundamentally solve the challenge of artifact and vulnerability management across foundational software components like container base images and open-source libraries.
You will lead the charge in transforming our artifact and vulnerability management posture from reactive fire-fighting to a proactive, automated, and sustainable state.
The ideal candidate is a passionate, technology-driven leader who deeply empathizes with the challenges developers face.
They are comfortable in conversations with engineering teams, cybersecurity experts, and senior leaders, and possess a strong ability to translate complex technical problems into a clear, strategic product roadmap.
As the Director, Product Management - Secure Foundations Platform, you will:
Define and champion the product vision and multi-year strategy for automated vulnerability remediation at Capital One.
Lead the product roadmap for the Continuous Automated Refresh (CAR) platform, transforming it from a program to a mature, scalable product.
Partner closely with senior leaders in Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Risk to ensure the platform meets the complex security and operational needs of a large enterprise.
Deeply understand the pain points of our internal software development teams and use those insights to build solutions that make the secure path the easiest path.
Define, monitor, and evangelize key performance indicators, measuring the reduction of toil, decreased time-to-remediate, and the overall impact on developer productivity and satisfaction.
Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation and stakeholder engagement to delivery, launch, and continuous improvement.
Serve as the enterprise-wide subject matter expert on the product, effectively communicating its value proposition and progress to stakeholders at all levels.

Basic Qualifications:
At least 7 years of experience working in Product Management
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading product management for developer platforms, DevOps tools, or large-scale enterprise platforms.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, particularly in application security, vulnerability management, or software supply chain security.
Experience translating complex business strategy and technical challenges into a clear, data-driven product roadmap.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and risk management.
Excellent communication skills with a track record of engaging and influencing senior executives.
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location.
Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
