Job Title: Distribution Field Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a Distribution Technician to assist with inspecting power distribution poles, contributing to our Power Distribution Engineering team and the growing Power Sector.
Responsibilities
+ Perform visual inspections of overhead and underground electrical distribution facilities and equipment.
+ Collect and compile field data and prepare minor work orders.
+ Generate maintenance reports for distribution equipment.
+ Assist with storm damage assessments for overhead and underground distribution structures and equipment in various locations.
Essential Skills
+ Data collection expertise.
+ Experience in the electric utility and utility industry.
+ Proficiency in field data collection.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) or utility experience is preferred.
+ Knowledge of computers and software applications, especially MS Office products, is desired.
+ A clean and valid driver's license is required.
Work Environment
The work environment involves arriving at the job site between 8-8:30 AM, with travel dictating the start time.
Typical daily travel is 3-5 hours in total, usually 1.5-2.5 hours to and from the job site.
A company vehicle is provided for travel.
Workdays are generally longer, spanning 10-12 hours, which eliminates the need for overnight hotel stays.
The average workweek consists of 40-50 hours, typically from Monday to Thursday, with light work on Fridays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
