Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Directs the operations of the Soft Count Team while providing a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and cooperation within the department.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:


· High school diploma or equivalent required.


· Adding machine, computer terminal operation, and currency counting machine skills helpful.


· Basic mechanical (repair) ability preferred.


· Prior supervisory experience is preferred.


· Prior count room or money handling experience (casino or bank) is preferred.


· Must be able to work all shifts.


· Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.


· Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


· Sorts, counts, and records contents of table game drop boxes, bill changers and currency drop boxes, according to set procedures.


· Compares information contained in drop boxes to data stored on computer terminal.


· Responsible for daily reports, minor repairs and maintenance of soft count equipment.


· Reads and records slot machine meter readings.


· Responsible for general upkeep of soft count room and ordering.


· Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.


· Spends the majority of time interviewing, training, and selecting employees.


· Conducts Performance Reviews.


· Makes or recommends wage increases.


· Makes or recommends promotions.


· Provides for safety and security.


· Handles employees' complaints or grievances.


· Recommends disciplinary action or disciplines employees.


· Plans work.


· Supervises and monitors work.


· Monitors legal compliance with federal, state, and gaming laws.

DEMANDS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

PHYSICAL & MENTAL:


· Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations, including employee conflicts.


· Must be able to push and pull carts and carry up to 75 pounds of boxes filled with currency.


· Must be able to grip objects and have good finger movement when counting and handling currency.


· Must be able to differentiate denominations of chips and authenticity of currency.


· Must be able to stand for extended periods.


· Must be able to operate a computer, ten key adding machine, and money counter.


· Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and twist as necessary.


· Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.


· Must present a well-groomed appearance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


· Ability to perform the job duties of hard count and soft count team members.


· Ability to maneuver in and around all count rooms.


· Ability to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.


· Ability to work at a fast pace in mentally and physically stressful situations.

· Must be able to work graveyard shift any day of the week.


· High school diploma preferred.


· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.


· Basic mechanical ability helpful, but not required.


· Prior coin room experience (bank) would be helpful.


· Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.


· Must present a well-groomed appearance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


· Picks up, protects and delivers all buckets of slot drop monies from the casino floor to the Hard Count room.


· Weighs and wraps all monies picked up daily and transfers to the vault.


· Ensures company’s assets are safe.


· Monitors adherence of coin room policies and procedures.


· Trains and schedules new staff to meet the demands of the department.


· Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory and company policies.


· Spends the majority of time interviewing, training, and selecting employees.


· Conducts Performance Reviews.


· Makes or recommends wage increases.

PHYSCIAL & MENTAL:


· Must be able to push and pull carts weighing up to 5,850 pounds with assistance of a team member.


· Must be able to stoop, bend, twist and reach while removing and transporting coin.


· Must be able to continuously remove buckets weighing up to 90 pounds from under slot machines and lift a bucket to head height in order to place on carts.


· Able to lift rolls of coin and stack into racks.


· Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


· Must be able to continuously maneuver in and around the casino and hard count room.


· Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, bright lights, high noise levels, and dust.


· Ability to get along with coworkers and work as a team.
