We are seeking a talented Dual Recovery Coordinator to join our team of nearly employees.

The Dual Recovery Coordinator is a full-time (35 hours per week) position based at the Wyoming County Mental Health Department and will collaborate with Genesee, Orleans and Wyoming Counties, along with designated agencies and organizations.

This role involves identifying barriers to service accessibility and implementing localized systemic solutions to enhance service quality for all individuals requiring co-occurring services.

CCSI is partnering with Wyoming County Department of Mental Health to hire a Dual Recovery Coordinator This position is employed by CCSI and working on behalf of Wyoming County Department of Mental Health.

In this role, you will 

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge about key principles and best practices of integrated mental health/substance use disorders from SAMHSA, New York State OMH and OASAS and other sources; participate in quarterly meetings with State agencies and submit reports as required.

  • Coordinate/provide educational opportunities to individuals, families, agency staff, medical, educational and forensic systems and other organizations about dual diagnosis, treatment strategies and recovery throughout Genesee, Orleans and Wyoming Counties.

    Related issues such as suicide prevention, trauma-informed care and person-centered planning are examples of educational opportunities that may also be included as areas of training needs/gaps.

    Create and distribute bi-monthly newsletter.

  • Participate in Mental Health Department subcommittees, suicide prevention coalitions, Trauma-informed System of Care, drug or treatment courts, GOW CARES Alliance, crisis diversion initiatives and other appropriate committees, as needed, to inform and advocate for the unique needs of dually-diagnosed individuals and their families.

    Active participation in needed meetings and committees would focus on assuring individual and family access to appropriate dual recovery services that support best practices with a treatment plan that appropriately addresses their unique needs.

    Continue to assess barriers in the service systems and work to create and maintain a seamless service system network where there is “no wrong door” for individuals seeking treatment.

  • Maintain on-going assessment of dual recovery needs of child/adolescents, adults and the elder populations in each County and advocate for systems to respond to their special treatment needs and the needs of their families.

    Also, coordinate/provide educational opportunities that address the needs of each group and develop strategies to decrease barriers to their recovery.
  • Assist in development of dual recovery services, as needed, in each County.

    Support appropriate screening tools and protocols, as appropriate.

    Also, support effective and valid self-help groups and other peer initiatives.
  • Other appropriate duties as requested or assigned by Counties in consultation with Wyoming County Mental Health Department and CCSI.
  • Requirements

    What You Bring 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, nursing, or human services field.

    Advanced graduate education ideal.

  • 5 years of experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and/or Credentialed Alcohol Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) certification.

  • Required for this position are:

  • Valid NYS Class D Driver license and access to a motor vehicle to meet transportation requirements of the position.
  • Satisfactory completion of all required background screenings 
  • Respect the confidential nature of all CCSI and CCSI customer information you are exposed to in the course of your work performance.

    Staff working directly with protected health information /electronically stored protected health information, personally identifiable information, and other patient/consumer/customer data, will abide by the specific procedures and policies outlined by CCSI’s Code of Conduct and CCSI’s Privacy and Security Policies, New York State regulations and Federal regulations.
