Urgent! Early Education STEM/Coding mentor and tutor Job Opening In Pensacola FL – Now Hiring Code Ninjas Pensacola

Early Education STEM/Coding mentor and tutor

Job description

Job Description Job Description We are seeking passionate, high-energy, and dynamic individuals to join our team as a coding tutor (Code Sensei).

As a Code Sensei, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students on a variety of STEM and coding topics.

This position would work primarily with our JR program, ages 5-7.

However, based on coding experience, this position could offer the opportunity to work with our older ninjas as well, aged 8.

Code Ninjas is the world’s largest and fastest-growing kids’ coding franchise, with hundreds of locations.

In our dojos, kids, ages 5-14, don’t just learn coding-they gain creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, and STEM skills in a fun, safe, and inspiring environment.

Learning to code can equip children with valuable skills such as problem-solving, logical thinking, and creativity, which we believe are essential for success now and later in life.

Our programs are developed with creation in mind because it allows our students to express their imagination, experiment with new ideas, and have a sense of ownership and control over their creations—not to mention, creativity is the ultimate medium for self-expression, exploration, and discovery, which are essential to our students cognitive, social and emotion development.

Responsibilities: Guidance & scaffolding : Because kids this age often get stuck or frustrated, the Sensei’s role is to scaffold — give hints, ask leading questions, help them debug, and prevent overwhelm.

Facilitate hands-on learning : Help with robotics kits, circuits, physical materials, or crafting elements.

Ensure safety and supervise interactions with hardware.

Manage engagement : Young kids have shorter attention spans.

It’s your job to keep them motivated (switch up tasks, inject game breaks, maintain high energy).

Differentiation : Some 5-year-olds will grasp patterns quickly; others may need repetition.

You’ll need to adapt pacing.

Encourage reflection : After a project, guide them to talk through what they built, how it works, what went wrong, how to fix it — this builds metacognition.

Classroom management & safety : Managing small groups, keeping kids focused, ensuring safe use of electronics, and transitions between stations are critical.

Progress tracking & communication : Record how each child is doing; communicate with parents about progress, strengths, and challenges.

Knowledge, Qualifications and Requirements: Previous experience working with children or teaching in a camp, classroom, or informal educational setting.

Strong knowledge of STEM concepts and principles, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.

Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts.

Must be fun to work with and enjoy working in fast paced environments where requirements can change frequently.

Ability to maintain order and discipline within a group setting.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate campers of varying ages, learning styles, personalities, and backgrounds.

CPR and First Aid knowledge or certification (preferred but not required).

Must pass a background check.

Application Instructions: To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in working in STEM education and the contact information for two professional/educational references.

Applications can be submitted to pensacolafl@codeninjas.com We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and encourage all qualified individuals to apply.
