We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Editor to join our content team.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for editing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining high-quality standards.

This role requires someone who can optimize content for SEO and work closely with freelance writers and editors to ensure our content meets the needs of our audience and partners.

How will you make an impact?

  • Edit and optimize 6-8 articles daily, ensuring content is high-quality, accurate, and engaging.
  • Focus on increasing traffic to GOBankingRates content through effective SEO practices.
  • Work on both partner-focused titles and SEO-driven titles to meet various content goals.
  • Generate and pitch 6-8 data-backed title ideas daily to drive audience engagement and traffic.
  • Help evolve and maintain content standards to ensure consistency and quality across all published materials.
  • Oversee the entire workflow of content production, from writing assignment briefs to fact-checking and editing copy, to preparing posts for publication.
  • Ensure timely delivery of content and adherence to deadlines.
  • Work closely with our network of freelance writers and editors, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure the highest quality of work.
  • Foster strong relationships with freelancers to build a reliable and efficient content production process.
  • What Will You Bring to Us?

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a writing and/or editing role, producing high-volume content for an online publication in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • Full command of line editing, fact-checking, and copy editing (to AP Style).
  • Strong editorial judgment and ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency with analytics tools to monitor and assess content performance.
  • Goal oriented, with a focus on meeting deadlines and upholding quality standards.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and tracking tools.
  • Expertise in personal finance content is a plus.
  • The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000 per year.

    Pay offered may vary
    based on a number of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
