Location: 3500 Colonnade Pkwy Suite 550, Birmingham, AL 35243
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our EPC team, supporting large-scale power generation and distribution projects including gas turbines, renewables, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and transmission systems.
In this role, you will lead the development of high-quality electrical engineering solutions, applying advanced technical expertise and collaborating across disciplines to deliver safe, efficient, and constructible systems.
What You'll Do
Develop conceptual layouts, preliminary designs, and cost studies for electrical systems.
Perform engineering calculations such as voltage drop, load flow, fault current, arc flash, conduit/tray fill, and protective device coordination.
Determine substation and motor control center loading and equipment sizing.
Review and integrate vendor drawings and provide electrical engineering input on interdisciplinary designs.
Support scope development, procurement documentation, and construction packages.
Conduct fieldwork for data collection, verification, construction support, and commissioning/startup activities.
Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance to the team.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
Professional Engineer (PE) license highly preferred.
Minimum 7 years of electrical engineering experience in industrial or EPC projects.
Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other applicable industry standards.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D required, 3D desirable), Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with electrical power system modeling software (., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower) is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently or within cross-functional virtual teams.
