Department Summary
The Electrical Engineering Department at San José State University (SJSU) has established a firm goal to provide a high-quality Electrical Engineering education to its students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The Department offers classroom instruction by the best-qualified EE faculty, hands-on experience in industry-sponsored state-of-the-art laboratories, and opportunities for industry internships.
The Department has over 400 undergraduate and 300 graduate students.
Both EE undergraduate and graduate programs support students to obtain professional experience while taking classes.
In conjunction with their classes, many students work as Instructional Student Assistants and Teaching Associates in the department, and EE interns in the Silicon Valley firms.
Our graduates enjoy excellent career opportunities in a broad spectrum of theoretical and practical areas such as device physics, micro and nano electronics, analog electronics, integrated circuits, communications, signal processing, network and network security, mobile network, power electronics, energy systems, microprocessors and computer systems, embedded systems, control, robotics, autonomous systems, machine learning and deep learning, quantum information and quantum computing.

Brief Description of Duties
Lecturers are expected to teach their courses effectively; to maintain appropriate office hours in accordance with University Policy; and to cooperate with the department in the peer-review and course assessment processes.
Lecturers are strongly encouraged to seek guidance from the Department Chair for clarification of the university policies and department practices with respect to grading, testing, textbooks, office hours, curriculum goals, disability accommodations, academic integrity, etc.
All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the entire semester or term, in the mode assigned and listed in the schedule of classes (., asynchronous, synchronous, bichronous, in-person, or hybrid).
All Faculty shall organize all their classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), the official LMS provided for the SJSU community.
All classes at SJSU, whether online or not, must be anchored in the Canvas platform to ensure faculty-student connection in a common space as all students are directed to log in to Canvas for online access to their classes.
You will have access to this system prior to the semester start date.

Range salaries above are the anticipated monthly salary rate of full-time AY faculty--part-time rates are prorated.
There are 6 monthly payments per semester (full-time AY annual salary = rate x 12).
