Electrical Engineering Manager
Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73102
Salary: $125,000 to $140,000 annually
Position Summary
The Electrical Engineering Manager will lead the electrical design team and oversee all aspects of electrical design and launch processes.
This role requires an in-depth understanding of the company’s products, electrical design requirements, and engineering workflows.
The manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining wire and panel packages, electrical diagrams, and UL 508A compliant designs, while managing a team of electricians and electrical technicians.
For highly complex projects, this role may also perform electrical checks on designs completed by others.
Essential Functions
Design UL 508A panels including calculations, component specifications, panel layout, schematics, and UL-specific labeling
Manage and mentor a team of electricians and electrical technicians
Review and interpret blueprints, technical wiring diagrams, and customer electrical specifications
Develop and maintain wiring, control, and lighting standard diagrams
Select and specify components such as transformers, fuse blocks, motor starters, VFDs, signal converters, relays, and other distribution and control components
Develop standards and tools for designing company electrical diagrams for lighting, power wiring, and controls
Support Application Engineers in developing submittal wiring diagrams
Assist with product-specific electrical testing
Ensure compliance with state and local regulations, National Electric Code, ETL requirements, and standards including UL 60335-1, UL 60335-2-40, NFPA 90, NFPA 70, and UL 508A
Administer and manage UL 508A panel shop program
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly manage and oversee electricians and electrical technicians
Skills and Abilities
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
Associate’s degree with technical certification and 10+ years of equivalent experience considered
Experience
12+ years of electrical engineering experience preferred, including at least 5 years in a management role
Experience in a UL 508A panel shop strongly preferred
HVAC industry experience a plus
Computer Skills
Proficiency in creating wire diagrams in 2D software
Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
Familiarity with regulatory entities such as UL, ETL, AHRI, and ASHRAE
Other Requirements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization
Proven ability to organize, plan, and prioritize workload effectively
Ability to accurately document and record information
Proficiency in English language (additional languages a plus if relevant to business needs)
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $125,000 to $140,000 depending on experience
