Job description

Job Summary:

The Electrical Estimator is responsible for capturing labor and material costs to complete electrical system estimates for both our commercial and industrial customers.

This role is the foundation for the success of our departments to capture the correct amount of profitable work by providing customers with the most accurate project cost as possible.

We specialize in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing solutions including new construction, building and system upgrades, major renovations, and both scheduled and emergency services.

Responsibilities:

  • Estimate small to medium sized projects as determined by the Lead Estimator
  • Complete project take offs with a high level of attention to details
  • Review application and project factors with Lead Estimator prior to bid
  • Procure vendor and sub-contractor pricing as required
  • Determine and add general expenses to project
  • Assist in the Value Engineering process when necessary
  • Aid in keeping the estimating software and databases current
  • Keep Lead Estimator updated of your work status on a weekly basis
  • May be called on to perfom Assistant Project Manager tasks
  • Perform other related duties when requested by Department Manager and/or Lead Estimator

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of industrial and/or commercial electrical system install experience
  • Ability to read construction documents including drawings
  • Prior electrical estimating experience preferred but not required
  • Accubid experience preferred but not required
  • Above average computer skills with the ability to learn new software efficiently
  • Above average conceptual ability while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Possess excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently with a teamwork mentality
