Job description

Job Description

We are looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector for a weekly (one day a week) inspection in Pittsburgh, Kansas for the next several weeks.

(until September)

Typically, the inspections would require visual/physical inspection, witness of testing, review of QA/QC documentation including MTRs.

Each inspection completed would require the inspector to issue a report of findings within the specific time limit.

The Inspector will be required to sign an independent contractor agreement/sub-contractor agreement (1099) with SGS North America Inc.

Each time an inspection is completed an invoice with a time sheet is expected to pay the inspector for the completed job.

Normal payment terms of the contract is 15 to 20 days after receipt of invoice.

Qualifications

  • Electrical and/or Instrumentation Journeyman.
  • Other E&I Trade Certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with inspection work.
  • Understanding and familiarity with the applicable codes and standards such as NEC, IEEE and ANSI plus relevant safety regulations.
  • Capable of understanding the schematic wiring drawings.
  • Candidates will have working knowledge of PLC and associated instruments.
  • Candidates will have experience around LV, MV and HV equipment such as switchgear, protection devices.
  • The ideal candidates will have inspection experience in the Oil & Gas industry and Power and Utility.
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Candidates must be proficient in using several types of computer software (Word, Excel.

    PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Depending on educational qualification, trainings/certification and experience the pay range will be $35 to $55 per hour.

    Mileage for round trip driving will be reimbursed at cost.

    For extended traveling when needed all expense items will be reimbursed at cost against receipts.
