What You Will DoThis position will be filled at either the Nuclear Facilities Engineer 3/4 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate.
Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.Nuclear Facilities Engineer 3 ($125,200 - $211,300)Within this job, the successful candidate will have to opportunity to support the Laboratory's mission by serving as the subject matter expert for nuclear facility electrical engineering matters, including all aspects of electrical safety, power quality, power monitoring, critical power reliability/redundancy issues, modifying buildings, and developing new structures and equipment within and around LANL nuclear facilities.
Often in this role, engineers may perform engineering studies including short circuit, device coordination, equipment sizing, exterior lighting, fault current, arc flash for both medium and low voltage equipment, demolition, installation, upgrades, and repairs.
Additionally successful candidates will be expected to qualify as a Cognizant System Engineer (CSE) on one or more Vital Safety Systems (VSS) that support LANL Nuclear Facilities.Nuclear Facilities Engineer 4 ($150,300 - $260,800)In addition to the description above, engineers in this position will work alongside junior and senior engineers (e.g., fire protection, structural, mechanical, and electrical) and other peers in team settings to complete collaborative full-system design solutions through mentoring and leadership.What You NeedMinimum Job Requirements:
